Walk the Green Line

May 29-31, 2008

Help IPCRI mark the 60th Anniversary of the UN decision to divide Israel and Palestine

into two states, with the Green Line serving as the basis for the border between.

Walk. Learn. Add your voice to those calling for peace.

Two Ways You Can Help!

1. Walk With Us

Join us for three days of hiking along the green line. We will be walking important sections of the line,

visiting Palestinian and Israeli areas, meeting with politicians from both sides, NGOs and those working for peace.

The event is also a fundraiser, with all donations helping support the work of IPCRI.

2. Sponsor a Walker

Consider sponsoring someone to walk in your stead. Your donation to IPCRI will help

provide an opportunity for others to be involved in this important event. Find someone to sponsor, or let us connect you!

MachsomWatch

MachsomWatch surfaced in February 2001, shortly after the outbreak of the Second intifada. It began as a small group of Israeli women that went out to checkpoints to document what happens there – this following news of violence against Palestinians. The activity which began in the environs of Jerusalem, widened with time.
Many women joined the organization which now numbers 400 members.
New groups were founded in the north, center and south – groups which send out two shifts a day to upwards of 40 checkpoints across the West Bank.
The scope of activities also widened to include monitoring and documentation of hearings in military courts, assistance in the removal of shabak (General Security Service) and police prohibitions, and information and advocacy action in Israel and abroad.
MachsomWatch exploits every opportunity to spotlight the harsh implications for the Palestinian population of the policies of the Occupation.
